People at work have two of these little remote control helicopters; they are utterly amazing. Someone also got a little remote control airplane, too, I have to figure out which one. That is amazing as well. I am dating myself in a way, but the first thing I thought of when I saw them was JESUS CHRIST I WOULD HAVE KILLED TO HAVE THAT AS A KID. Seriously, they are so tiny yet they fly for like 5 minutes on a full charge, and only take about 10 min to charge. When I played with RC stuff as a kid, the cars and stuff drove for about 5 minutes, and then it took you HOURS to recharge the battery. Now they have friggin HELICOPTERS and AIRPLANES and now OH MY GOD I WANT ONE.

I grew up in somewhat of the boondocks of New Mexico, and then suburban Connecticut. I had lots of forrest/yard space to play with this kind of stuff, and I would have been doing bombing runs and like attaching fireworks to these things all day long. Man oh man. I would have never… gone inside?

They work with these tiny little motors that can work so hard, it’s unreal. The crafts themselves seem almost weightless, the materials are usually Styrofoam, with very very light plastics and all. We’ve come such a long way from plastic action figures and big metal Tonka trucks =P

I was holding out to get one of the ‘copters but after seeing that dragonfly, I must have it. I need to find the nearest Radio Shack.
