Frag For Cash With Kwari

Now here is one terrifying concept. Take the addictive and highly competitive nature of an online FPS and then add in a system where you get money for kills. That’s the concept behind Kwari, a shooter being developed by a company of the same name.

This is kind of an awesome idea. If they expanded this to other games, even MMOs or something to that effect, this could get kinda crazy, kinda quickly. Sure, it’s gambling, so that complicates things, but playing for money changes everything.

Cospod

Mad, mad support for this awesome idea. Podcasts abound, and about all different kinds of things, but these are few and far between. Do it up!! Spread it around, peeps.

This week we have a fantastic interview with the very sexy, very talented cosplayer/actress Kitty as well as new features! Be sure to check out Kitty’s personal website (The Red Neko)! A slide show will be displayed with this podcast.

Some research into EVE Online

I’ve been doing a lot of research on EVE Online, recently, I think I might give it a shot. I’ve come across a lot of cool resources, and a lot more cool stories. The game has, by far, some of the deepest ‘drama’ I’ve seen to date.

I’mma stockpile some EVE stuff here for safe keeping. You’re so lucky, you get to be my safe keeping, internets.

Here’s an awesome blog for people coming to EVE from WoW. Not really leaving WoW myself, but I’m sure a part of the demographic haha.

Here’s a great snippet from an epic article explaining the ’spy game’ aspect of EVE.

Yet at the highest of fantastical highs, reality can bring a crushing low. Unable to sustain a 1,000 ship assault, the EVE Online server began dropping players left and right, leaving those stuck at the EVE loading screen like Vile Rat to ask, “So for those logged in and doing things how does the gate look?” Meanwhile, those Federation pilots that managed to log on continued the fight, and in one glorious, lag-ridden exclamation, destroyed the nascent Titan. Cheers erupted over TeamSpeak. The Picard Song echoed through the air. The operation would forever after be referred to as the “Titan Abortion.”

I love me some Goons.

I guess this image is updated regularly with the current political climate of the game.

I have a friend/acquaintance/ex coworker who was/is big into the game and quite the veteran, so I think we’re going to buddy up with him and his corp starting out to get a taste of the game. I’m gonna probably be a miner starting out to make some cashola, then learn up some of the support/engineer skills. I like to pew pew but I think I I’ve figured out the proverbial answer to “What’s your playstyle?” i.e. I don’t think I could bring myself to be a griefer/pirate but I could be a bully if it was under a banner with a reason to be one. I like playing support classes and keeping a group together more then being a hero or a rockstar.
